Hello and welcome to Destin West Bayside. We stress Bayside because the condo's on the Bay side of Okaloosa Island are separate and distinct from the Destin West Gulfside (beach side) condo's.

Destin West Bayside is comprised of four condo buildings, Pelican (1322 Miracle Strip Pkwy), Sandpiper (1324 Miracle Strip Pkwy), Heron (1326 Miracle Strip Pkwy), and the Osprey building (1328 Miracle Strip Pkwy). The Community Association Manager (CAM) office is located in the Sandpiper building on the 2nd floor (L Button in the elevator) in unit L-08. The "L" stand for Lanai. The below is information related to Bayside rentals only.

For any issues within the condo or buildings, it is within the Landlords/Owners discretion to evict any Guest who does not comply with the rules or is determined to be a safety risk to the property, employees, owners, guests or themselves. The same applies for the CAM in regards to the amenities and common areas.

BEACH FLAG WARNING SYSTEM

Double Red Flags: Water is closed to public use.
Red Flag: High Hazard including rough conditions, strong surf or currents.
Yellow Flag: Medium Hazard (light surf and or currents)
Green Flag: Low Hazard (calm conditions)
Purple Flag: Marine Pests such as jellyfish, stingrays or dangerous fish.

BOATS AND WATERCRAFT

Anchoring in the waters in front of DW Bayside is legal and allowed.
No boats or watercraft are allowed to be tied to the dock for any reason.
Boats may pull up to the docks in posted areas only to offload or onload from watercraft. The boats must not be tied or attached to the docks with any lines at any time.

FISHING AND SPEAR FISHING

Fishing licenses are not required for fishing on the Bayside docks.
Fishing licenses are required when fishing from the sea wall / water front property.
Cleaning fish on the docks or on the common grounds of Bayside is not permitted.
Please ensure that when fishing all fishing equipment is neatly stored when not in use to prevent others from being injured by hooks, poles or other equipment.
Do not leave any fishing equipment unattended, Bayside is not respoinsible for any of your fishing equipment or tackle.
The public fishing pier on Okaloosa Island also is a cheap way to fish including rental of poles and tackle. They also sell bait. See https://www.theislandpier.com/.

GYM

The Gym is located on the GULF Side by the beach access. The door code is provided by the rental management company.

MARINA, FISHING DOCK AND BOAT SLIPS

All Destin West Beach & Bay Resort owners have a right to access the common areas of the dock and the marina. The marina has 25 private dock slips that are for use by the private owners and their bayside guests.

All Owners and their guests may fish from the dock but must wear the amenity wristband as this serves as your Florida Fishing License. Owners and guests may enjoy access with the gate code which can be received from the HOA office at 850-244-1428 or by contacting a board member. This code is needed to enter and exit the Marina.

Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Fish cleaning is not allowed on the docks or in the common areas of DW Bayside.
Bicycles, Skateboards and resort carts are not allowed.
No diving or swimming
No Unauthorized Vehicles
Do not feed birds or any other wild animals.
DW Bayside is not responsible for unattended items
No open flames or fireworks
Quiet hours pertain to the dock as well as the bayside common areas
Water use from the water spigots on the docks is charged to the owners of the slip. The water is not supplied for public use.
Boat slips are the poperty of individual owners, these are not public slips. No watercraft may be moored to any slip except the owners or renters who have paid for the slip use.

NOISE AND SPEECH

At Destin West Beach and Bay Resort on Okaloosa Island, music and noise regulations focus on quiet hours, personal device volume, and county ordinances. QUIET HOURS ARE FROM 10:00PM UNTIL 8:00AM DAILY. Please be considerate.
Pool & Common Areas: Personal speakers and loud music are generally discouraged or restricted at the communal pools and lazy river areas to prevent disturbing other guests. Use of headphones is recommended.
Balconies & Patios: Sound travels easily across the water features and courtyards (especially near the bay/lazy river areas); loud music or television noise from units is prohibited during quiet hours.
The use of profanity is prohibited. This is a family focused resort.

OUTSIDE BALCONIES AND CONDO DECK AREAS

Do not hang towels or clothes on balconies to dry.
Do not throw anything from the balconies. Throwing objects from a balcony in Florida is illegal and can lead to severe criminal charges, heavy fines, arrest, and civil lawsuits for property damage or injury.
Do not feed any animals from the balconies or decks.

OUTDOOR GRILLING / COOKING

For condo's on floors three, four, five and six, Charcoal grilling is only allowed in the bayside grill area by the picnic tables behind the lazy river. Destin West provides the grills but not charcoal, lighters or any other materials. Please clean the grills after each use so others can use them.
Propane tank grills, cookware, heaters, or anything with gases of any type are not allowed on any outside decks or balconies for condo's on floors three, four, five and six. The condo's on the second floor have existing grills in the Lanais (1st floor outside deck areas) as does the condo's on the 7th Floor, the Penthouse roof spaces.
All guests are required to clean up after themselves when using the outdoor cooking equipment.

PARKING

Parking permits are required for all vehicles parked on Bayside property. The parking pass should be displayed on the dash of your vehicle. Any vehicle without a parking permit displayed is subject to towing. Contact your Rental Company to receive/replace misplaced parking permits.
No Trailers, Boats, Wave Runners Or RVs are allowed to be parked anywhere on the property. Doing so may result in your vehicle being towed at your own expense.
All Vehicles Must Have A Parking Permit. Failure to have one may result in your vehicle being towed at your own expense. * Contact your rental company to receive/replace misplaced parking permits.
There is no assigned parking, anyone may park in the covered or uncovered parking areas.
Do not leave any valuables in your car, Destin West Bayside is not responsible for these contents.

PET POLICY

Renters, guests or invitees are NOT PERMITTED to have any animals or pets at Destin West Bayside in the Condominium units or on the common grounds. Any Service Animals or Emotional Support animals (ESA) must provide their information to the Community Association Manager (CAM) or a board member. The CAM can be reached at (850)244-1428.

POOLS, POOL DECK AREAS, BEACH AND COMMON AREAS

Resort Bands Are Required In All Amenity Areas - This Includes Pools, Spas, Bbq Area, Marina And Beach Access. *Contact Rental Company to replace any misplaced bands. Fees may apply.
The pool in front of the Heron building is reserved only for Heron guests and owners.
The pool in front of the Osprey building is only for guests and owners of the Osprey building. See map on this page.
The Use Of Profanity Is Prohibited. This is a family focused resort.
No Jumping Or Diving In Pools, Hot Tubs Or Kiddie Pools.
Reserving Pool Furniture Is Prohibited.
Pool Decks Are Open From 9:00 Am Until 10:00 Pm. (Peak Season) and 9:00 A.M. To 9:00 P.M. (Off Season) There Are No Lifeguards On Duty.
Children Under 12 Must Be Accompanied By An Adult (18+) In Any Water Amenity.
No Glass Is Permitted On The Pool Deck
No Food Or Drink Is Permitted Within 4 Feet Of The Pool’s Edge. (Florida Health Department Code 64e.9.004(4)).
All Children Three (3) Years And Under Must Wear Swim Diapers When Using Water Amenities.
Keep Off Beach Dunes - They Are Environmentally Protected.
No Skateboarding Or Bicycling Is Allowed On Walkways Or Garages.
No Throwing Of Anything Such As But Not Limited To, Balls, Frisbees Or Beach Balls In The Pool Areas.
The pool in front of the HERON Building is for use ONLY by guests staying in the Heron building. Likewise for the pool if front of the OSPREY building.

RESERVATION, SCHEDULING OR ACCESS ISSUES

When experiencing problems with rentals, guests should first contact the company through which their rental was booked and paid for.
The large building in front of Destin West Bayside (1320 Miracle Strip Parkway) has the rental office for Destin West Vacations only, which is a specific rental management company. If your unit was rented through their company, you may address any issues with them directly. If you did not book your rental through Destin West Vacations, they cannot help you. Even though they are located onsite, they do not handle the rentals for all condos and all buildings at Destin West Bayside.

SMOKING POLICY

No medical weed, cigarettes or vap pens are allowed on any of the guest property.

Smoking is not allowed:

In the parking lots.
On the Balconies, decks or any areas connected to the condo units.
In the pool areas, in the buildings or hallways, in the restrooms, in the garages, in common use areas or on the elevators.

Smoking Areas outside of DW Bayside:

At the back of the property near the seawall by the benches.
By the Tom Thumb gas station to the east side of DW Bayside.
On the sidewalks near Highway 98 in front of the property.

TRASH POLICY

All renters, guests or invitees shall place their garbage down the Garbage chutes provided on each floor. Do not leave any garbage outside or the doors. The elevators of each building provide the location of the chutes.
If garbage is to big to fit down a garbage chute, get with a Destin West Bayside employees (teal shirts with logos) or call (850)244-1428, do not leave it sitting in the hallways or in an open area.

USE OF DW BAYSIDE CARTS

Luggage carts are NOT permitted on Boat Dock walkways, the Hwy 98 Pedestrian Crossover bridge.
Always return carts to designated storage areas in Lobbies or parking garages. If left out, high winds can damage them or push them into people or vehicles.
During peak seasons, these carts are in high demand, please use them and return them to their designated area as soon as possible. Please do not leave them in your condo to unload later.
Carts can be used from any building.
